Divisions

The Sheriff's Office is made up of five divisions that are commanded by dedicated and highly-skilled personnel with years of experience in law enforcement.


Criminal Investigations Division

The Brooks County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has four investigators and one administrative assistant. CID investigates crimes reported to the Sheriff's Office and acts as a liaison to surrounding local, state and federal agencies. The CID also maintains the Brooks County Sex Offender Registry.


Narcotics Division

The Narcotics Division consists of one captain and three agents. This office investigates all narcotics activity with honesty and integrity while upholding all aspects of law enforcement. The goal of this division is to reduce or eradicate buying, selling and trafficking of all narcotics and dangerous drugs, as well as gang activity. This office also arrests violators in Brooks County and surrounding areas for violating local, state and federal narcotics laws.


Uniform Patrol Division

The Patrol Division consists of 14 deputies and one supervisor. Captain Garrett West is the Road Patrol Supervisor and oversees the daily operations of this uniformed division. Patrol consists of four teams with two deputies each, a traffic unit with one deputy and two sergeants. The patrol teams work twelve-hour shifts with every other weekend off. Each team works two months of day shift before rotating to two months of night shift. The Patrol Division is responsible for all law enforcement in Brooks County, including warrant and criminal apprehension, traffic enforcement, court security and inmate transports.


Jail Division

The Brooks County Detention Facility is a major function of the Brooks County Sheriff's Office. Currently, it operates with 18 full-time officers operating the facility 24 hours a day. The daily average inmate population is 64 inmates. Currently, the facility can house a maximum of 112 prisoners.


Civil Division

The Civil Division handles all the civil processing including Fi- Fa, writ of possession, child support, divorce, child custody paper work, etc.
